Why Does InvoiceNow Compliance Matter in Singapore?
AI Account supports InvoiceNow for you. Send unlimited InvoiceNow e-invoices with no extra charges, and scale your business with us.
InvoiceNow Singapore deadlines now shape everyday GST work for owners and finance leads choosing accounting software in Singapore. Every GST-registered business has a dated phase, and invoice data must reach IRAS on time once that phase begins.
This guide explains what InvoiceNow is, the IRAS phase dates, who is excluded, the onboarding steps, and how AI Account supports InvoiceNow end to end.

What Is InvoiceNow in Singapore?
InvoiceNow is Singapore's nationwide e-invoicing network, built on the Peppol standard and introduced by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in 2019. It lets accounting systems exchange structured electronic documents securely, machine to machine.
Instead of emailing PDFs, businesses send invoices as structured data across the network. Recipients' systems read the figures directly, which cuts manual entry and transcription errors.
Each business registers with its Unique Entity Number (UEN) in the SG Peppol Directory and receives a Peppol ID. That identifier lets counterparties locate you and route e-invoices straight into your books.
In practice, Peppol e-invoicing in Singapore shortens payment cycles and strengthens record-keeping. For GST-registered businesses, it also now feeds invoice data directly to IRAS under the requirement below.

What Is the GST InvoiceNow Requirement?
Under the GST InvoiceNow Requirement, all GST-registered businesses must submit invoice data to IRAS through InvoiceNow-Ready Solutions, unless they are excluded (see the exclusions below). The obligation applies in phases, beginning on 1 November 2025 with newly incorporated companies that voluntarily register for GST within six months of incorporation.
According to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), the requirement sits alongside your existing GST obligations, and GST itself stays at the current 9% rate.
For existing registrants, annual supplies are measured using the value declared in Box 4 of GST returns. This applies to prescribed accounting periods ending in calendar year 2025. IRAS has notified pre-2026 registrants of their implementation dates directly, so check your notification before planning.
Invoice data must reach IRAS by the earlier of the date you file the relevant GST return, or that return's filing due date. Your GST returns are still filed as usual — InvoiceNow does not replace them.

Who Is Excluded from the GST InvoiceNow Requirement?
Overseas entities, including OVR Pay-only and OVR full-regime vendors, are excluded from the GST InvoiceNow Requirement. A business liable to register for GST wholly due to the Reverse Charge regime is also excluded. If your registration circumstances are unusual, confirm your position with IRAS before assuming an exemption applies.
How Should Your Business Prepare for InvoiceNow?
IRAS describes two routes. You can use an accredited InvoiceNow-Ready Solution, or work with an IMDA-accredited Access Point Provider to connect your solution to IRAS. The core steps are the same either way:
- Get a Peppol ID: your provider registers your business in the SG Peppol Directory with your UEN.
- Connect your solution to IRAS through the InvoiceNow network.
- Activate the GST InvoiceNow submission feature so you can start submitting invoice data to IRAS.
IRAS says onboarding may take as little as three months. Most businesses complete setup within a year, depending on readiness and system configuration. Start well before your implementation date.
IMDA provides information on InvoiceNow grants and eligibility. Check the current conditions directly with IMDA before applying.

How Does AI Account Support Peppol E-Invoicing in Singapore?
AI Account fully supports InvoiceNow end to end. Its SG E-Invoice module covers Peppol ID registration, IRAS authorisation, sending and receiving e-invoices, invoice data submission to IRAS and status tracking. AI Account is an OpenPeppol member effective May 2024, and AI Account Pte Ltd is listed on IMDA's InvoiceNow Access Point Provider list.
AI Account is accounting software. It submits invoice data through InvoiceNow, but it does not file GST returns for you, and GST returns are still filed as usual.
Our documentation and getting-started guide explains how to connect the SG E-Invoice module and complete the setup steps.

1. Peppol ID Registration and IRAS Authorisation via Corppass
From the Connector tab, you register your company for a Peppol ID and, if your company is GST-registered, authorise the submission of invoice data to IRAS. Your company's Corppass administrator approves each activation, and both statuses then show as Connected.
2. Flexible Transmission Channels
Choose the channel that matches each entity's obligations: PEPPOL & IRAS, IRAS only, or PEPPOL only. The table below summarises what each one does.
3. Bulk Sending, Receiving and Status Tracking
Send e-invoices in bulk, receive supplier e-invoices, and monitor their status in one place. Received supplier e-invoices can be linked to an existing expense or used to create a new expense entry.
4. Peppol Tax-Code Mapping
If you use the system tax codes, no setup is needed: they are matched to the corresponding Peppol tax codes automatically. If you created your own tax codes, you select the matching Peppol tax code for each one, and custom measurement units are mapped to the Peppol standard codes in the same way.
AI Account SG E-Invoice Transmission Channels
| Channel | What it does |
|---|---|
| PEPPOL & IRAS | Sends e-invoices to Peppol-connected customers and transmits invoice data to IRAS |
| IRAS only | Transmits invoice data to IRAS without sending to Peppol recipients |
| PEPPOL only | Sends e-invoices to Peppol-connected customers without IRAS transmission |
